The Emblem of the Glinos Foundation

When Professor Andre Glinos was preparing the establishment of the Glinos Foundation, he had the intention to choose an emblem for the foundation that should represent both his own and his father’s, Dimitris Glinos, worldviews.

As a medical doctor and a biologist, Professor Glinos was aware of the history of his science. So, he picked up from an old manuscript (an 11th century copy of the 2nd century Chrysopeia) the “Ouroboros”, i.e. the tail-eater serpent, bearing the saying “All is One”. The drawing and the caption signify the unity of the material world, as do the philosophical ideas of Parmenides and Heraclitus as well.
